I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
